Book Clubs

There is a reading club for everyone at the library!  Make this the year to be part of one!

Reader of the Pack, 2017

Twice a month, Koda and Nala, friendly therapy dogs, will be visiting the library. You can sign up for 15 minutes to read and cuddle with them!  On Tuesday, September 19,from 5:30-7 pm, there will be an open house to meet the dogs and find out more about the program. Starting in October, we will host Reader of the Pack on the first and third Tuesday of each month.  Please contact Louise to get on the email list or to schedule an appointment for a specific date, or 866-5060.  Registration online is not available.

MSBA Club, 2017-2018

MSBA Club is offered to 4th - 5th graders at the Library.  Read and discuss books from the Maine Student Book Award list, play trivia games and enjoy being together!  The library will be treating you to pizza, but be sure to let us know before each meeting that you are participating so we order enough!  We will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from September to May, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. The books are on display at the library for your reading pleasure. Please call us at the library or email  to let us know you are coming each month and to get on our email reminder list.  New participants are welcome to join us at any time during the year.

Chickadee Club for K-2nd grade, Fall 2017

Chickadee participants will review 10 picture books nominated for the Maine Chickadee Award and participate in a related activity at each meeting. Our fall session meets for six Thursdays, October 5 - November 9; 3:15-4:30.  Limited to 15 children.  Asa Adams Elementary is offering bus transportation from the school to the library for this program; however, space on the bus is limited to 10 children.  We will accommodate the first ten children coming from Asa; if you prefer to deliver your child to the library for the six week program, please let us know. Please sign up on Orono Parks & Recreation page beginning September 15. For questions or more information, or to let us know you don't need bus transportation, email Louise at For more information on the award, visit the Maine Chickadee Award site.
